Do’s and Don’ts

1. Keep the Instrument away from heat , strong light ,prowerful


electrical connections ,water prone areas
2. Maintenance should only be performed by Authorized Personnel.
3. Optimum Temperature(23±2) and Humidity(65±5) should be
maintained during operation.
4. Don’t use the device in wet conditions or surrounded in explosive
gases or dust.
5. Turn off the device and detach the accessories when not in use.
6. If the instrument or accessories show any sign of damage don’t use it.
7. Handle the equipment with authorized personnel’s permission.
8. Inspect the device and check its performance periodically when not in
use for long time.
9. RED Emergency Power Shut Off (EPO) buttons, know the location of
these buttons before starting the work.
10. Know emergency procedures.
11. Always disconnect a plug by pulling on the connector body but not
the cable
12. Keep electrical service and breaker panels accessible at all times.
13. Keep all cords and wires out of foot traffic areas .
14. Don’t roll chairs over electric cords or wires
15. Attention for proper earthing of electrical equipment.
16. don’t click pictures or record the video while calibration is going on
17. don’t use your hands to handle the standards weights directly.
18. Always be sure that electrical equipment is turned off before
plugging it into the socket.
19. Don’t be tempted to operate your equipment beyond its rated
capacity. Don’t push it to its limits or use it for purposes other than
what it was designed for.
20. Don’t overload power points and electrical circuitry. E.g.
‘piggybacking’ of double adapters, power boards and extension leads
21. Do follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the installation,
operation, storage, cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
22. Do invest in quality ‘power surge’ protection for all equipment and
electrical switchboards.
23. Do schedule regular electrical testing of all equipment
24. Don’t try to access areas of a machine that have hazardous moving
parts while the machine is running.
