Lesson 1 – Introduction to Kodu

Step 1: - A computer game needs:

Pick 3 of items from the list and explain why you think that they’re important
to all games. It could be lives, characters or rules.
Step 2: - Explain
Item 1: - Character- It’s important so you can play the game.
Item 2: -World- It’s important you need somewhere to play the game.
Item 3: - Objects-It’s important so you have a purpose to do something in
the game.

Step 3: - Explain why computers need precise instructions


They need precise instructions so they can know exactly what to do so they
don’t do something different.

Experimenting with Kodu – You now have some time to practice


programming using Kodu.
Step 5: - Add in objects such as castles.
Step 6: - Using Kodu, change the way an object looks. Make it bigger or
smaller

Step 7: - Using Kodu change an objects settings.

Step 8: - Code a character to move when the control or keyboard is used
