oil-on-water monitoring and detection systems enable early detection and mitigation of water
pollution events. Leakwise can detect oil sheens, monitor oil buildup, measure hydrocarbon
layer thickness, alert operators of oil presence, and shut down pumps or valves 24/7. For years,
the reliable, easy-to-use and low-maintenance Leakwise systems have given power generation,
power distribution, oil pipeline, tank farm, marine and other industries control over potentially
costly oil spills. Leakwise can also be used for spill prevention, control, and countermeasure
(SPCC) plans, since the systems meet plan criteria and comply with EPA regulations.

A smoke detector is a device that senses smoke, typically as an indicator of fire. Commercial
security devices issue a signal to a fire alarm control panel as part of a fire alarm system, while
household smoke detectors, also known as smoke alarms, generally issue a local audible or
visual alarm from the detector itself.

The presence of an oil mist in the crankcase is the result of oil vaporisation caused by a hot
spot. Explosive conditions can result if a build up of oil mist is allowed. The oil mist detector
uses photoelectric cells to measure small increases in oil mist density. A motor driven fan
continuously draws samples of crankcase oil mist through a measuring tube. An increased
meter reading and alarm will result if any crankcase sample contains excessive mist when
compared to either clean air or the other crankcase compartments.

A flame detector is a sensor designed to detect and respond to the presence of a flame or fire.
Responses to a detected flame depend on the installation, but can include sounding an alarm,
deactivating a fuel line (such as a propane or a natural gas line), and activating a fire
suppression system. When used in applications such as industrial furnaces, their role is to
provide confirmation that the furnace is properly lit; in these cases they take no direct action
beyond notifying the operator or control system. A flame detector can often respond faster
and more accurately than a smoke or heat detector due to the mechanisms it uses to detect
the flame.[1][2]

2. A gas detector is a device that detects the presence of gases in an area, often as part of a
safety system. This type of equipment is used to detect a gas leak and interface with a control
system so a process can be automatically shut down. A gas detector can sound an alarm to
operators in the area where the leak is occurring, giving them the opportunity to leave. This
type of device is important because there are many gases that can be harmful to organic life,
such as humans or animals.

Gas detectors can be used to detect combustible, flammable and toxic gases, and oxygen
depletion. This type of device is used widely in industry and can be found in locations, such as
on oil rigs, to monitor manufacture processes and emerging technologies such as photovoltaic.
They may be used in firefighting.
