SUBJECT: ADHOC COMMITTEE FOR THE REPATRIATION TO HOME COUNTRY

OF BODY OF SPANISH SOLDIER WHO DIED ON 26 JUNE 2016.

GENERAL

1. A Spanish Soldier, met his untimely death on 26 June 2016 at the UNP 7-2. A NOTICAS
has since been forwarded to the DPKO as an initial requirement to the series of proceedings and
processes. As a UNIFIL member, he is to be accorded all due protocols, and his remains repatriated
to his home Country.

2. In the light of this, and in accordance with UNIFIL SOP Vol.4. Part 2. Sec 4.3.1, an Adhoc
Committee composed as below has been tasked to ensure the successful and smooth arrangements
of all the necessary procedures and protocols involved in repatriating the deceased soldier to his
Home Country, Spain and submit a report to the HoM/FC, accordingly.

3. The Committee will sit at the DFC’s Conference room Monday 27 June 2016 at 0930hrs
and expected to present its report to the HoM/FC by CoB on same day Monday 27 June 2016.

COMPOSITION

4. The Committee shall be composed as follows:

a. Director Mission Support (DMS)(or his/her representative) - President.
b. Chief Financial Officer (CFO) (or his/her representative) - Member.
c. Senior Legal Adviser (SLA) - Member.
d. Chief Medical Officer (CMO) - Member.
e. A representative from the Spanish Contingent - Member.
f. A rep from the CMPO Branch - Coopted member.
g. The Force Sergeant Major (FSM) (or his/her representative) - Coopted Member.
h. A rep from the Protocol Office - Member
i. Any other person the president deems necessary could be co-opted as a member to
assist in the proceedings.

TERMS OF REFERENCE

5. The Committee is to among other things determine the following:

a. Review the information received on the incident.
b. The mode of disposition to be made of the remains; ie remains to be airlifted to home
country, establish time and place of delivery as well as air movement arrangements.
c. What ceremonies, if any, are to take place in the UNIFIL AO, and/ or Rafic Hariri
International Airport, Beirut.
d. Appoint an escort for the repatriation.
e. Any other issues that the Board may deem necessary.

SUBMISSION

6. The Committee will its report to the HoM/FC by CoB on Monday, 26 June 2016.
