Should India adopt two time zones

For –
• India stretches about 3000km west to east. Time to
sunshine is different at east and west end so two time
zone can prove to be a better option
• East India is blessed with abundance of minerals but still
lags in economics development because of less working
hours
• In Assam the tea plantation workers works 1 hour ahead
of IST
• France being a small country have 12 different time zones
Against –
• It can be an impractical solution particularly the risk of railway
accidents due to utter confusion
• Will require extra efforts to educate people
• People need to adjust to timings every time they cross borders
• N.E. states may feel further alienated
