DREAM NASIUM

For 21 years of existence, the Aparri East National High School’s name is resounding as one of the top
performing schools in Cagayan and across Region 2 in both academic and sports competition.

A silent witness here is a place where athletes, dance sports contestants, cheer dancers and all others
would flock and rehearse. Because of its limited space, sometimes practice is done by schedule. Everything is
fine except when the rain pours or when the sun scorches, everyone must find a shed because it is roofless. It
has strong pillars but nothing to support. Boom. How do you like it? Presenting our DREAM nasium!.

So many memories are heralded on this spot: This is the place where our basketball players practice
before winning the championship. It is the same avenue where our cheer dancers endure the blazing sun just to
be crowned the ultimate victor. Volleyball players still enjoy here no matter how limited their space and time is.
From here, even the holiness of the sacred mass is staged. Irish Margery Misador, a perennial and multi-
awarded National athlete can proudly attest that she could not make it to the top if not for the blessing of this
setting. Who can say that from this very same location, our 2-time ASEAN silver medalist Algin Gomez once
practiced when he was yet a newbie?

Just as these stories of successes are realized, we dream of a gymnasium of our own. It was year 2014, I
was still in grade 7 when I heard that our dream nasium would soon be erected. I was excited though that in the
following year, students like me would enjoy staying under its mighty roof enjoying every school program but I
was frustrated because it never happened.

Now that we have new principal, I heard the same promise this time from a new governor. Multi-purpose gym is
what is ought to be and the time frame is yet unsure. As usual, we expect again and still continue to expect
because that is what we can do-to expect unlimitedly.

Out of these stories of success and frustrations, we see a mighty gymnasium- wide, airconditioned, fully
furnished, well decorated-in our dreams.
