GEBOIL

FUNCTIONALITY
Sealing compound with refractory additives and organic binders.
Compound designed for sealing threaded or flanged joints, resistant to many chemical products such as aromatic
or aliphatic hydrocarbons, dilute acids (except for oxidising agents) and bases and gases.
Chemical and oil industries, gas burners.
Suitable for applications requiring high thermal resistance.

Technical characteristics
Appearance Paste (thixotropic)
Colour Black
Density 1.65
Viscosity at 20 °C
1,500 Pa.s
Brookfield RVT (Helipath F) at 2.5 rpm
Drying Bottom drying from 70/80 °C
Does not harden at room temperature but forms a skin after 2 hours.
Thermal resistance High
Temperature stability 1,200 °C, in the absence of oxygen
Solubility - Water-soluble,
Therefore, do not allow contact with water unless above 80 °C
- Insoluble in hydrocarbons (aromatic and aliphatic) and dilute acids (except
oxidant acids) and bases
Impermeability To gases
Disassembly Easy
Expansion Approximately doubles in volume under the effect of heat

Use

Preparation

Degrease both parts to be assembled using a solvent (alcohol for example) and then dry.

Directions for use

 Threaded joints:

Coat the male part sparingly by smoothing in the direction of the threads. Apply a small amount to the female part.
Assemble and clamp normally (approx. 30 N.m).

 Flanged joints:

Coat the flanges and clamp. A coated paper seal on both surfaces can also be used if the gap is too large.
If greater fluidity is required, just add a small amount of water and mix.
