A lack of education results in

Discrimination and Racism

Education is a process of getting knowledge through study and bringing a positive change in the
behavior of a person. Education is the best way of distinguishing between right and wrong. There
are three types of education (formal, informal, non formal). But here we will discuss the results
due to lack of formal education. Formal education is achieved in schools, colleges and
universities.

Discrimination is the way of treating the people different from the others just because of
difference in age, gender, religion. For example someone has higher qualification and also
experience but he or she will not be given job just because they are too old or too young. Even
those who have personal relations will be preferred for job than those who have capabilities for
getting jobs so in this way there is discrimination of personal relations over capabilities.

Racism means treating or behaving people on the basis of color, language and races. For
example in United States Whites were given superiority over the Blacks. Black students were not
allowed to travel with the whites in the same buses. Blacks were not given the opportunity of
getting the same education as the whites were provided. This discrimination increased to such a
large extent that blacks feel inferior to whites.

Lack of education about rights of humans would result into discrimination among creed, races,
gender and age. When equal opportunities were not given to people of different cultures in the
world then this would discriminate people. Lack of education in the institutions about religion,
races and gender will result in discrimination between people. Without proper education people
do not distinguish between right and wrong and they started dividing into different groups.

At last it is concluded that lack of education results into illiteracy which leads to division of
human population into races. Division of people into races would result into discrimination. So
all these were interlinked in such a way that lack of education would result into racism and
racism would result into discrimination. So formal education system have to provide the basic
concept of treating all people equally to remove discrimination and racism.
