DESCRIBE an OBJECT

the object is anything that is the target of directing a conscious action of


the subject. In other words, an object is something that is targeted at the
intentionality of a particular soul, habit or even science. The object is the
goal of action (power, habit, knowledge) as action

a. SHAPE
Describing shapes is sometimes become more difficult if we do not
understand how to do it. To help you, I will share some expression used for
describing shapes as below!

Expression
1. The coins are circular. They’re circular coins.
2. The ball is spherical. It’s a spherical ball.
3. The plates are oval. They’re oval plates.
4. The chessboard is square. It’s a square chessboard.
5. The protractor is semicircular. It’s a semicircular protractor.
b. COLOR

rs can make our life bright and interesting. Imagine how boring our life would be if there were no
colors. We cannot enjoy the beauty of flowers, rainbow, butterflies, etc. Wherever we are, we will
find colors: at home, at school, in the park, in the garden, etc.

We will also find colors from the time we get up in the morning until the time we go to bed at
night. So, colors are very meaningful in our life. Here are the most common color names are:

Black Gray/Grey
Red Blue
Orange Purple
Yellow Brown
Green Magenta
Cyan Navy
Olive Aquamarine
Maroon Turquoise
Silver Teal
Lime
Indigo
Violet

Expression
1. The circle is red. It is a red circle.
2. The square is blue. It is a blue square.
3. The triangle is yellow. It is a yellow triangle.
4. The rectangle is green. It is a green rectangle.
5. The parallelogram is orange. It is an orange parallelogram.
c. SIZE

There are so many sizes around us; we should sometimes describe it in our daily English
conversation. Below are some example how to express or describe size for you!

Expression
1. Box A is heavy. It’s a heavy box.
2. Box B is light. It’s a light box.
3. Cylinder A is big. It’s a big cylinder.
4. Cylinder B is small. It’s a small cylinder.
5. The electricity pylon is tall. It’s a tall electricity pylon.
6. The telephone pole is short. It’s a short telephone pole.

d. LOCATION

Positional language can be words such as: across, around, over, past, through, under,
beside, behind, between, near, far, above, below.

Students use positional language when giving a verbal description of the location of the
elements of their playground pictorial map with reference to their maps. This could be
shared in small groups or recorded as a movie in an app such as Adobe Voice.
