What is Microselection?

■ A prerequisite for students in order for them to


understand how to find the main idea in longer
reading passages.
■ Finding key words in a single sentence.
Purpose

■ Help student to better retain the meaning of a reading


helping them to develop skills to identify and recall the
main idea.
■ Students are able to learn how to paraphrase the
meaning of a sentence
■ Helping students to understand the main idea of a
passage.

■ Guide Students in Practicing Microselection

■ Discuss the Procedure

meaning of the sentence.
■ Students can use resources such as dictionaries,
