“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” –Benjamin

An educator can be a person of wisdom, knowledge, and support. Same as a student, every
teacher comes from a different culture and knowledge. There are teachers that are driven with
curriculum and teachers who are driven with kindness. In my perspective an educator should be
balanced with both. Where students are receiving the appropriate and necessary support but also
are given a voice. The purpose of an educator is to open a road of success and opportunities to all
students. Where the students can decide their own road either to go downstream or a higher
As a future educator, there are three principles that guide me. Achieving all three
principles can contain obstacles. The three principles are creating a connection with students,
providing educational progress and creating a difference. As a future educator, these three
principles are an important part of teaching. For example, a newcomer to the states without any
proper education will become isolated if the educator is not creating a connection with them. A
student should be given the opportunity to create a relationship with the educator. Educational
progress is something that is looked at frequently but also ignored. In my time observing a
classroom, there was an educator who focused greatly on the content that was presented and less
on the activity the students had to complete. Repeatedly focusing students to the curriculum and
providing them with directions. She stated that there are multiple educators that focus on how
appealing the activity is. An educator's attention must focus on both the curriculum and the
effectiveness of the activity. Stating the importance of the knowledge that was reviewed and
discussed. The final piece for an educator is creating a difference in students’ lives. There are many

future educators that state this. In my perspective, an educator has the key to provide guidance and
When a person is given the resources and opportunity to learn they are able to progress in
life. For example, students who are raised in families with a history of poverty can be given the
opportunity to remove themselves and strive for a better. A person is constantly learning, if it’s
learning the tricks to a new phone or learning a new recipe. Your mind is grasping and retaining
the information which you are learning. If a person is given adequate resources and support, they
There are many strategies and resources to use when teaching. As a future educator,
creating an environment where discussions can be completed, or group activities can be supported
are a few of the different strategies that can be issued in teaching environment. As a future
educator, I would like to be content-focused, where the information is presented and open students’
curiosity. Where the students can become interested and curious in the content that is being
presented to them. For example, in a fifth-grade classroom, students begin to learn the different
types of energy. How as the educator can I create this objective interesting? An educator must
An educator can face many obstacles in order to achieve a connection, progress, and create
a difference. An educator is provided with many resources and technical support. But it is the
educator’s responsibility to create a difference will all the principles and initiatives.
