The Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist

There are seven sacraments, the Sacrament of Baptism, Confirmation, Holy


Eucharist, Reconciliation, Anointing of the sick, Holy Order and Matrimony. These
sacraments were instituted by Christ Himself. These sacraments are the important
moments of Christian life for this sacraments makes the Church holy, to build up the
body of Christ, and to give worship to God.

Holy Eucharist is the highest and most important form of prayer. In this
sacrament, with the present of the blood and wine, Jesus is being contained, offered
and received. Jesus Christ instituted the Holy Eucharist started in the Last Supper,
which is the last meal which Jesus shared with his apostles in Jerusalem before His
crucifixion. Transubstantiation is the change of the entire substance of the bread and
wine into body and blood of Christ.

The Holy Eucharist is an important sacrament for it is a sacrifice and it


represents the last meal of Christ, this meal wherein a simple bread and wine became
the most precious and holy body and blood of Jesus Christ.
