Phonology is the branch of linguistics that deals with the sounds of speech, their production, combination, description, and representation through writing. It examines how speech sounds change over time and how speakers organize sounds to create meaning. Phonetics studies how the human vocal tract and organs produce sounds on physiological, articulatory, acoustic, and auditory levels, including how sounds are produced, transmitted from speaker to listener, and perceived.

Phonology: It is the branch of Linguistics that deals with the sounds of
speech and their production, combination, description, and
representation by written symbols. It includes the changes in speech sounds throughout the time (Old English – Modern English) and how do speakers organize speech sounds to produce meaning.
Phonetics studies language in general. It focuses on how our human organs
are capable of producing sounds. It has a physiological level. Phonetics is divided into three fields:
Articulatory phonetics: the study of the production of human
sounds by the articulatory and vocal tract by the speaker. Acoustic phonetics: the study of the physical transmission of speech sounds from the speaker to the listener. Auditory phonetics: the study of the reception and perception of speech sounds by the listener.
