Description of Work

Fire Safety and Fire Protection/Fighting Design:

 Analysis of building geometry, layout/configuration against probable fire scenario to
determine:
 Adequacy of travel distance, staircase capacity, exit number/size for safe
evacuation of occupants during fire.
 Smoke and hot gases spread across building so that it doesn’t affect life safety of
occupants during evacuation.
 Structural integrity of building structural components, to ensure safety and
robustness of building against fire and high temperature.
 Design of smoke management/control system to facilitate occupant evacuation as
mentioned in point 2 above.
 Design of passive and structural fire safety system to provide structural integrity as
mentioned in point 3 above.
 Design of first aid firefighting system including fire hose reels system, portable fire
extinguishers, as well as professional firefighting system including standpipes, fire
hydrants etc.
 Design of fire suppression systems including automatic sprinkler systems, clean agent
fire suppression systems i.e NOVEC 123, FM 200 etc.

 Fire Protection Systems Layout/Drawing
 Bill of Quantities for Fire Protection Systems

 Fire Safety Engineering Design Report: 20-40 days
 Fire Protection/Fighting System Layout/Drawings: 20-30 days
 Total time for completion of project: 20-40 days [tentative]
[Note: the time for completion of the project depends explicitly on the need for fire
engineering simulations for the evaluation of fire safety designs and the time required for
completion of those simulations.]
