This procedure defines the process flow to ensure all pertinent requirements were
properly evaluated, complied and the area subject for application are free from tenurial

IV. DEFINITION OF TERMS

. Area Status /Clearance - is a document issued by the Mines and Geosciences

Bureau Regional Office Xlll for permits issued by the
Local Govemment Units such as Sand and Gravel
Permits, Quarry Permits and Gratuitous Permit.

Mine Management Division - refers to the Division of the Mines and Geosciences
(MMD) Bureau Regional Office No. Xlll, responsible for the initial
evaluationof mining and mining-related applications,
monitoring of the disposition and utilization of mineral
lands and resources, and survey of mineral lands.

r Mineral Land Survey - refers to the Section of the MMD that process, verify and

Gratuitous (Govemment or Private), Guano, Gemstone
Gathering, and Pebble Picking.
