    ETHOS : Establish your credibility

    Two ways to establish credibility , through knowledge or action.

    LOGOS : Provide many reasoned arguments.

    PATHOS : Ignite audience emotion

    Two ways to connect , either through narrative ( storytelling ) or through speaker / audience interaction.

    LANGUAGE TECHNIQUES

    1. Rhetorical Question
    2. Repetition
    3. Mantra : Short pithy phrase that impacts
    4. Alliteration
    5. Tricolon: Groups of 3
    6. Compare and contrast : as thin as a pencil
    7. Simplification : Ask short questions , and provide the answers.
    8. Antithesis : Putting opposites together

    The Halo Effect : Opening lines are the most important, judgement based on looks , posture and first few
    lines.

    Tips for Pitch Seminar

    1. Smile
    2. Make Eye contact
    3. Open Gesture
    4. Use appropriate voice modulation
    5. Hands above waist
    6. Space and Movement ( Move back and forth) Move forth when putting a positive/ assertive
    point.

    CRITICAL THINKING

    1. Interdependent cognitive actions

    4. Is a Method, not a trait
    5. Can be hindered by affective barriers.
