The Code sets out a procedure for obtaining certification for a volunteer fire department and for a volunteer fire fighter. ‘The procedure is overseen by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection. See also, § 419.073(a)(“A volunteer fire fighter certified under this chapter...” ‘The evidence in this cause showed Defendant obtained tax exempt status for the entity he considered a lawful volunteer fire department. He also sought to register the organization with the Secretary of State.
