Tugu Kunstkring Paleis – Indonesian Fine Dining

Glad to be back again to my favorite Indonesian Fine Dining restaurant! Tugu Kunstkring Paleis! Around 2
weeks ago my friends and I went to Tugu1, that was my second time there. They always amazed me at
their service2, ambiance and of course the food �

First of all, for you who haven’t known Tugu Kuntkring yet 2, this is a restaurant and also an art and
cultural venue3. So they have an art gallery inside the building 4. The building itself has been established
from the year 1914. In 2013, Tugu Hotels & Restaurants Group re-opened this historical building and
name it TUGU KUNSTKTRING PALEIS, an oasis of art and culture. Btw, you guys can also buy their
artworks, jewels, lifestyle products, and other design items 5.
Now, move on to their foods � Basically, you can choose your preferred style of foods such as a la carte
or Rijsttafel Betawi style6. The unique one is the Rijsttafel style 7, this represents a culinary lifestyle from
the colonial. Waiters will serve us “The Grand Meal”8 which is the sampling of different Indonesian
dishes9 while they are dancing and interact with guests 10. It was totally a new experience for me and
super fun!11

The Rijsttaffel style also available for small groups 12 at their private
room called The Rijstaffel Room which has 6 – 8 seating
capacities13.

Here is a perfect location for a big breakfast or brunch 1. Holly Belly is a

49 seats “Melbourne style” café2.They don’t do reservations 3and
obviously you will have to wait to be seated 4 as it is always very busy5.The reason why? Their concept is
simple: good food, good coffee and goose service in a consistent fashion 6.Portions are big7, food is
absolutely delicious!8

We would recommend their Sweet Stack pancakes 9, but as they change the menu quite often10, we’re
sure whatever you order, will be really good!11:)
