6) Illustrate your answers where ever necessary with the help of neat sketches.

1) A multipurpose hall measuring 13m x 25m is to be designed with ortho grid slab assuming a
suitable spacing of grid beams. Draw a key plan at 1:100 scales clearly showing grid an
supporting columns. At 1:20 scale for this slab make a detail drawing clearly showing the
reinforcement arrangement at crossing of grid beams. The drawing should be neatly drawn
fully dimensioned and described.

2) Write down properties of any two materials with respect to cladding given below.
a) Aluminum composite panel
b) Glass
c) Plastic
d) Stainless steel

3) Write in brief about the composition of soil and why study of soil and its composition
matters in building technology.

4) With reasons explain why and how the Architectural solutions/designs for high-rise
buildings are dictated by structural solutions/design to limit its deflection? List out these
structural criteria/ parameters and in detail explain any four of them.

5) Write down advantages and disadvantages of various RCC roofing system.
