The overall objective of this project is to establish a Medicine Inventory Management

System for Mary and Christ Lying-in Clinic that will improve the performance and efficiency of
the clinic’s medicine inventory management, eliminate/reduce risks of errors and fraud, give an
enhancement and design the pharmacy so that it could adopt for more effective and efficient
inventory system. A system that can be applied also for other clinics and drugstore/pharmacies.

should be implemented:

 To provide easily accessibility of stock reports

 To provide optimal medicine inventory management by monitoring the medicines’
movement in the pharmacy unit.

Significance of the Study

Using Medicine Inventory Management System (MIMS), Mary and Christ Lying-in Clinic
and other drugstores (other possible clients to use the system) will be able to manage and
monitor the stock/quantity of medicines in the clinic anytime or suddenly needed. The system
can increase the productivity and maximize profit because the system is minimizing the risk of
getting loss because all the records entered to the system will be save to the MS SQL database.

Scope and Delimitation

The scope of the study focuses on the company system process Medicine Inventory Management
System (MIMS) regarding the existing system. The system is handling all aspects of the inventory control
function. It allows the Administrator, Managers and Stock Managers to records new batches of
medicine delete obsolete medicine and modify the current dosage and indications of a medicine
in the database. Furthermore, the system will make the process of stock replenishment to be
easily. On the other hand, Patient Information Management System is able to generate reports
on the list of medicine in the stock for a given period of time. Also, a system allows to know the
expire date of medicine from early expire date to late expired in the stock. Although a Sales Man
is not able to delete or update any items to database because he/she has no authority to do so,
even to view or print any report, but the system allows him/her to sale and to see which items
sold at the time. MIMS covered the following areas. Stock management and reports
management.
