NARRATIVE REPORT

The school is an institution where the learners are honed and molded into a
responsible citizens or individual. An institution where the talents and skills of the
learners are crafted to become a competitive and successful individual of the society.
This is where one is crafted into a better person, who will be an emblem of the kind
of learning center where the learner was raised.

Thus Union National High School is making its surroundings clean and green
and ensures all the facilities are functional because the school believes that it is very
much essential for the learners to be motivated and inspired to learn, and its
surroundings contributes a big factor in achieving it. Thus, the annual Brigada
Eskwela took place. And now again, before the start of classes on June 3, 2019 as
mandated by DepEd thru Memorandum No. 36 s. 2019 also known as National
Schools Maintenance Week with its theme “Matatag na Bayan sa Maunlad na
Paaralan” mobilizes volunteers from the public and private sectors across the
municipality, parents, alumni, civic groups, non-government organization, teachers
students and individuals who volunteer to do repairs, maintenance work and clean-
up of the school prior to opening of classes. All schools have to prepare for the
opening of classes, so instead of enjoying the vacation, teachers along with the
students and other stakeholders have to come to school fuelled by the spirit of
volunteerism and unity, fix whatever is there to be fix and clean whatever is there to
be clean for the beloved clientele to be comfortable and inspired in another school
year of learning.

The weeklong activities dated May 20-25, 2019 started with parade together
with the UNHS Glockenspiel Corp, Union Elementary School Faculty and Staff,
Union National High School Faculty and Staff, volunteers, students and other
stakeholders as well as with Union Barangay Officials to show to the community the
formal opening of the Brigada Eskwela 2019. After the parade, an opening program

followed wherein the two schools of Union are united in conveying the community
members to participate the said program. The program ended up successfully at
exactly 11:43 in the morning where Mam Regina Euanne A. Puerto, the Division
Representative witnessed the program.

For the week long activities, the schools had prepared the schools for its
opening of classes. The following activities would not be possible without the unity of
the volunteers, teachers, LGU, students, parents and stakeholders:

 Weeding
 Cleaning, Arranging and Paintings of classrooms walls and doors
 Medical Check-up
 Cleaning and Painting of School’s Perimeter Fence
 Anti-Smoking Symposium
 Painting Grills
 Putting Signages
 Lightning

Union National High School is very grateful for the success of the Brigada

impact to all the community members and stakeholders for the benefits of the school
clientele.

DIVERSE PARTICIPATION NARRATIVE REPORT

Union National High School is grateful for having diverse participation in

preparing the school for the opening of classes. Brigada Eskwela 2019 with its
theme “Matatag na Bayan para sa Maunlad na Paaralan” aims to bring together all
education stakeholders to participate and contribute their time, effort, and resources
in order to prepare the school facilities and its ground for the opening of classes to
make our clientele comfortable as they begin their school year learning.

The school received service from the following workforce:

  TRISKELLION MADRID who painted the window grills of the different
classrooms and offices as well as the doors,
 TAU GAMMA MADRID who painted the walls of every classroom and offices
as well as the gate,
 MADRID DISTRICT HOSPITAL Staff and RURAL HEALTH UNIT Staff for the
medical check-up and symposium for the Anti-Smoking,
 Stakeholders, parents and students for weeding, cleaning the surrounding
and for helping the school to be organized and ready for the opening of
classes.

Union National High School extends its warmest thanks for all the support
given by the diverse organization that helped the school be ready for the school year
2019-2020. May the spirit of unity and volunteerism will be doubled for the next
school year for the benefit of the learners.

Memorandum No. 36 s. 2019 also known as National Schools

Maintenance Week with its theme “Matatag na Bayan sa Maunlad na Paaralan”

In view of this, Union National High School tapped the officials of Barangay

 INCREMENT OF RESOURCES AND VOLUNTEERS

Union National High School (UNHS) had scheduled and identified ways on
how to increase the resources and number of volunteers in Brigada Eskwela during
the pre-planning meeting conducted by the school personnel before vacation. During
the meeting, it was agreed that the school personnel had to send solicitation letters
to the LGU, stakeholders and identified donors to seek help in order to have funds to
be used during the said activity.

Weeks before the opening of the Brigada Eskwela 2019, the school personnel
had distributed flyers and disseminated information to every purok of the Barangay
through their Purok Presidents during their monthly meetings in order for them to be
guided and informed and let them be aware of the opening of the Brigada Eskwela.
The school also distributed programs for the opening of the said activity and at the
same time placed a tarpaulin campaigning for the same activity.

Prior to the flyers given, the school discussed the details on Brigada Eskwela
like what areas to be cleaned repainted and repaired. It was discussed also how to
generate funds such as tapping some identified donors, benefactors and
stakeholders through sending solicitation letters to LGU. Spirit of volunteerism was
highlighted by the school that is why at the end of the activity, there were 167
volunteers who shared their time and effort for the success of Brigada Eskwela 2019.

The school generated funds from the LGU and private persons through
solicitations and were used in the different activities during the brigade and snacks of
the volunteers. Working hand in hand with love for the learners is very essential in
achieving the goal and resourcefulness really helps in generating funds. Indeed this
saying is applied “Two heads are better than one” that makes the Brigada Eskwela
successful.
