Social political context

Thai student Association of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (Santai) and also called

TSAMY. This is an organization Founded by Thai students from Ahmad Dahlan University and
Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University. Before creating this organization on 2009 - 2010 there
has Thai student in Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta just only three - person and this organization
cannot construct. But this organization Established on September 11, 2011. because Thai
Students have come to study in Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta around 18 people.

Not long after, the members gradually increased, and now Thai student Association of
Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (Santai) there are about 150 members And everyone comes from
different provinces such as Pattani, Satun, Yala, Narathiwat, Songkhla, Bangkok, etc.

This organization to help Thai students such as Visa / Kitas services because the
university is not responsible for this work and because students have obstacles in terms of
distance traveled to various universities. Therefore, helping and facilitating the Thai students
studying in Muhammadiyah university and To help students in education and doing recreation to
strengthen educational immunity while being a student in Indonesia
 Leadership

Mr.Adul Leesen who is a core founder and be a first leader of Thai Student Association
of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta(Santai) or TASAMY. He studied at faculty Political and Social
Science at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Adul Leesen (consider as) who laid the
foundation for the organization until now.

Advice for TSAMY

This Activity is The first activity of the organization that helps students to get information about
studying at the university. The purpose is to help students adjust themselves to the study of each
subject. and help develop all aspects of students, such as social studies
Student Orientation
this activity is to welcome new students. The goal is to get to know the seniors and learn how to
behave in society in that university
Sport Activity
Sports competition activities within the organization or as everyone calls "TSAMY GAME" an
activity that every Thai student must join sports activities such as football, volleyball, etc and It
also shows the ability to sing, play, cheer to show the power and unity of everyone in the
organization
 Halaqah
Is an activity every students can share knowledge and various experiences about Islamic or Al
Quran and Hadis with people in the organization. this activity has every week
Seminar about Islamic
this activity that invites teachers from Thailand give knowledge about religion. and its
considered as a organization, allowing Thai students studying in Indo universities to join this
activity. and this activity can promote TSAMY organizations
The promoted University of Indonesia to Thai students in Southern Thailand
Sending representatives of the organization to promote the university at school in Thailand for 5
southern border provinces of Thailand such as Satun, Songkhla, Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala to
provide knowledge about further education in Indonesia
Helping children orphaned
Is a activities between the organization and children orphaned and to give donating food
distribution and Nazihat which is organized in the month of Ramadan every year
Bye noir
Is an important activity. Show brotherhood Because it's a farewell to the seniors who been
graduated and the senior who has been to helping since the juniors just entered the university
Value system

TSAMY is an organization formed as a result of the difficulties of students from Thailand

who study in Indonesia. The basic ideology adopted is to help students to study, live their lives,
and adjust various ways to be in line with existing life. Even though this ideology has actually
been carried out in various organizations of origin organizations in Indonesia, but TSAMY in
itself is more helpful or easier for students here.
However, this organization also actually has many goals, one of which is to help and build
relationships between students so that hospitality can occur between them. Another ideology was
formed that is to establish brotherhood among fellow Muslims and non-Muslims.

All of the above ideologies were formed in order to achieve common goals and social
responsibility as students
