PALM ISLANDS

Palm Islands are artificial archipelago in Dubai, Uni Arab Emirates. This place is
also as a place where trade industries will be built. This fantastic creation is created
by Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum and constructed since 2001. This
archipelago is one of the biggest land reclamation in the world, which consists of
three parts of islands. They are Palm Jumeirah, Deira Island, and Palm Jebel Ali. Every
island takes the form of palm tree, topped by crescent. Like Palm Jumeirah, which is
the only island had been completed, each island will also host residential, leisure,
and entertainment center.
Palm Jumeirah, begin the construction on June 2001 and totally financed from
Dubai’s income from petroleum. Palm Jumeirah takes form a palm tree which covers
a stem, a crown with 17 branches, and crescent islands surround it. What can we do
in Palm Jumeirah? With that gigantic scenic island, we can enjoy many things. Start
from relaxing in Atlantis, enjoy the amazing Aquaventure Waterpark, or Brunch
Boozy. In this island, we can also do skydiving over the island, and sailing around
Palm Jumeirah by yacht or speedboat.
How about Palm Jebel Ali island? This island begin the construction in 2002.
Palm Jebel Ali is estimated to lay off 1.7 million people in 2020. This project, which is
50 percent larger than Palm Jumeirah, include six marinas, a water theme park, 'Sea
Village', stilt houses on the water, and sidewalks. Not only recognized as its
construction, this island also has many amusement places such as Sea World,
Aquatica, Busch Gardens, and Discovery Cove.
The last one, is Palm Deira Island. This island is the biggest island from the
others. That’s because this island has an area of 119 km² with 41 branches. The
construction of Palm Deira is going on in phases, due to its large size. It will be a mix
use project that will comprise of Residential which includes luxuries residential
apartments, shopping mall, resorts, hotels, cafe and restaurant.
The primary reason for constructing The Palm Islands are to utilize and
increase the flourishing tourism in Dubai by providing tourists world class hotels, sky
diving, marinas, water parks, residential apartment, shopping malls, restaurant, and
all the necessary amenities that go with it. Along with an imaginative shape of a
palm tree is attached an extra hundred of miles of Dubai beaches which will be a
major attraction for beach lovers and leisure travellers.
