II. Course Title : Macro Economics

III. Credit Units : 3 units

IV. Course Description:


This is a 3-unit major course required for all
students enrolled in secondary education major in Social
Studies.
This course is designed to understand the cause
and effects of inflation, unemployment, fiscal and
monetary policies, modes of taxation, international
trade, national income, Gross National Policy, Gross
Domestic Policy and consumer development index.
It focuses on the significance of Economics as a means for students to
reflect what life may bring in their present situation and to devise what
measures they could undertake for the unpredictable future.

V. Learning Outcomes
1. demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding on the basic
economic principles and processes; macro-economic issues; fiscal and monetary
policies; laws and modes of taxation; gross national and domestic policies;
2. demonstrate competence in applying the relevance of economic concepts and
principles in enhancing their economic life;
3. present the mechanics and institution of international trade and their impact to
macro economy;
4. Manifest in-depth appreciation and support to the government on sustaining its
programs and projects through taxes;
5. Appraise selected economic policies and issues in relation to how these affect the
Filipino nation and the lives of the people; and
6. Manifest nationalism and love of country through internalizing citizen’s economic
rights and responsibilities.

X. Classroom Policies

1. Students are required to attend the class on time. Attending the class beyond the 15
minutes will be considered absent.
2. Three (3) accumulated late will be counted as one (1) absence while committing five (5)
unexcused absences for TTH schedules or seven (7) unexcused absences for MWF
schedules will be considered dropped.
3. For an excuse absence, the student is required to provide an excuse slip before entering
the class.
4. Students are required to submit requirements and projects on time. Late submission
will be sanctioned accordingly.
5. Cellphones are not allowed to be used in the class unless otherwise allowed by the
teacher for some relevant classroom activities. Cellphones will be confiscated from those
students caught using their cellphone without the teacher’s permission and will be
returned on the last day of Final Exam.
6. No permit, No Exam Policy will be observed as mandated by the school administrators.
Students are allowed to take special examination upon presenting their examination
permit but only during midterm and final examinations.
