Sprihaa

Introduction

Sprihaa is an organization and a company that is founded by Dr. Shalini Poddar that
offers Healing, corporate training, assessments and intervention programs and also conducts
various workshops for teachers, students and parents to aid understanding of mental health and
alternative healing modalities. Sprihaa is associated with Indian Institute of Psychology and
Research,St.Francis College, Supurva Hospital and Ments Hospital. Sprihaa also runs
organization that helps the need, called as Sprihaa Social Work. It started as a Non-governmental
organization namely PARIVARTAN in late 1900’s. The main goal of Sprihaa is to operate from
oneness, it believes that each and every individual is connected and everyone can be healed
through universal energies. The center also provides internship for students or any mental health
professional to help them grow in their own career paths.

The goal of Sprihaa foundation is to form a ‘SPRIHAA VILLAGE’ wherein villagers


learn, grow and productively help each other towards a happy, peaceful and prosperous life, free.
The founder believes that every individual, small or big, instills capability in him or herself to
provide healing to one another and possess sense of gratitude that is mystical and nice and in turn
increases humbleness and humanity. The founder also believes that ‘psychotherapy’ or any
‘Alternate healing modalities’ doesn’t provide scope for future directions, instead it instills
various possibilities and perspectives in the clients to resolve their issues.

About the Founder:

Dr Shalini Poddar has been earnestly working in the field of human psychology for
almost 17 years. She holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in association with California
University and MBA in personnel management. She is also certified hypnotherapist from the
American association of Hypnotherapy and BARS practitioner. She is specialized in various
techniques such as Psychoanalysis, Projective testing, Hypnotherapy, BARS, theta healing and
other alternate healing practices to identify and heal the root cause of psychological issues. She
fundamentally leads people in a profound stage of inner peace. She follows a holistic and eclectic
approach of psychotherapy, wherein she uses psychotherapies in conjunction with other healing
modalities. She loves Hypnotherapy and majorly practices Hypnosis as she believes that
Hypnosis provides deeper understanding of client’s issue and helps in finding peace and
tranquility within oneself.

Alternate healing modalities practiced:

The modalities used at Sprihaa range from classic models of psychotherapy to transpersonal
models of psychology. It varies from Hypnosis to Tarot cards. It is very inclusive and practices a
holistic approach. Sprihaa includes modalities such as Family constellation, Reiki, Pranic
healing, Angel healing; Runes (stones) are used as tools of divination - a way to connect to one's
mind, Tarot cards, Axis consciousness, Theta healing, BARS, past life regression. . For instance,
tarot cards help the client in understanding and finding possibilities and choices out of a
situation. It is used as a guide to help the client make the decision. The most commonly practiced
therapy is hypnotherapy. The founder stated that the alternate modalities make the process faster
and all the therapies including Alternate modalities, psychological assessments and counselling
session are tailored according to client’s needs and aims at Ego Integration (a process through
which one can heal oneself).

Programs Offered:

As mentioned above, Sprihaa conducts variety of certificate programs and workshops for
teachers, parents, students and working professionals. It also offers internships and full time and
part time jobs to students who want to practice and improvise their skills. They conduct
workshops on topics like TAT, Rorschach ink blot test, tarot reading and others. They also
conduct sessions for effective parenting. They also conduct training sessions for corporate sector
such as stress management, Creating awareness and others. They also offer full time courses to
avail such as Diploma in hypnotherapy.

They also provide behavior assessments like IQ test, personality assessments, career
guidance and screening. They also provide counselling for wide variety of population like
geriatric counselling, couple counselling, family and individual counselling. The therapies they
offer include life scripting and community healing.
The Portage Program is a home-based teaching program aims at empowering parents and
creating awareness of the various difficulties that children with special needs may suffer from. It
is a program for parents whose children have special needs. The children are taught new skills
and parents/guardians are shown how to stimulate their child's overall development. They also
conduct past life regression session for parents of children with special needs.

Common Themes dealt with:

Sprihaa focuses on integrating the whole self- mind, body and soul with the universe
connecting individuals through energies and rewriting their contracts. They aim in bringing
changes in their ego and instilling oneness in their clients. They just not believe in healing a
particular individual, but instead believe in creating a platform of energies to connect to one
another and heal people around you by carrying that positive and mystical energy. The main or
most common issues their cleints come with are:

Common age group:

Sprihaa works with every spectrum of an individual’s life. They aim to enrich and be with
individual at their every growing year. But, majorly the clients they deal with falls under the age
group of 24-50 years. They believe that this age group can connect more with the modalities and
healing practices they have to offer. They can be efficient in promoting mental health in their
younger generation and fore coming generations. They also thinks that people will lead a
healthier and independent geriatric age if they find purpose and meaning in their life at their
middle age.
