The MAGASA equipment EPG-5/M permits to carry out all the necessary tests
for the verification and calibration of the fuel injection pumps with electronic
governor (EDC-VE) and EDC-VE-HDK over any test stand manufactured under
International Standards I.S.O. 4008.

DESCRIPTION
1.- 0 - 30 V. voltmeter.
13.- Potentiometer tension control (from 0 to 30 V.).
6.- Switch ON - OFF.
14.- Switched on indicator led.
5.- Positive (+) output (ELAB valve).
5.- Negative (-) output (ELAB valve).
The tests to be made indicated in the calibration datas of the manufacturer of the
pump, are divided in two groups :
STATIC TESTS
Cheking with stationary pump, the status of the electric and electronic components
which are incorporated in the injection pumps. It is also verified the minimum and
maximum position of the electronic governor (position of maximum flow and minimum
flow).
Example of use :
.- Place the pump on test on the test bench, with all its connections. Supply test oil to
the pressure indicated in the test data. Verify that the test injectors and nozzles are the
specified by the manufacturer.
.- Connect the electric outputs (5) to the solenoid of the pump (ELAB). Position the
switch (6) in ON position, and through the potentiometer (12), regulate to 12 V the
voltmeter.
.- Connect the cable supplied of 7 outputs to the electronic governor and to the
connector7 if its EDC and 12 if its EDC-HDK.- Connect the cable supplied of 3 pins to
the connector (10) and to the advance electrovalve of the pump (SV).
.- With th general switch (8) in OFF position, we establish the direct connection from
the connector (7) to the 7 electric outputs (11). Or from connector (12) to the 7 outputs
(4)
.- With a standard Ohmeter, verify the values between the electric outputs (11 or 4),
specified in the test data of the pump on test. (For example : measure between the
outputs 4 & 7 ; 2 & 7 ; 4 & 6 ; 2 & 3 ; 1 & 3 etc.)
.-Connect the general switch (1) to ON position. The digital display of the milivoltmeter
(5) will light on.
.- MINIMUM : Turn the potentiometer (9) to the minimum (anti clockwise) and verify that
the milivolts indicated in the mV (3) are the ones indicated by the manufacturer of the
pump. (For example, between 700 and 840 mV)
.- MAXIMUM : Turn the potentiometer (9) to the maximum (clockwise), and verify that
the milivolts indicated in the mV (3) are the ones indicated by the manufacturer of the
pump. (For example, between 4130 and 4600 mV).
DYNAMIC TESTS
.- FLOW CONTROL : In these type of pumps, the flow adjust is made by
moving the electronic governor physically, at a determinated speed and mV
indicated in the test data. Once effected this adjustment, different parameters
are verified according to the test datas, for example :
From this we will go across the test data, for example (resumed) :
ETC. ETC.
ATTENTION : When we have fixed a tension in mV, the pump must not be in
that operation for more than 15 minutes.
