1. Introduction

This concrete casting method is applied to 0.8*0.8m column(as show in fig.1). To

guarantee the quality of column , two benchmarks will be done before the mass
processing.

2.Material

The column will be casted with the normal concrete of FC50 from Adhmix as per
SFA-009.The mix design attached at the end.

3.Formwork

The formwork of the column is same as MSA 045.

Open two 20*20cm holes on the middle formwork and two 15*15cm holes on
the top of the formwork while the height of concrete pouring each time can not taller
than 1.5m.

4.Casting

STEP 1:

1. Cast the column concrete from the bellmouth less than 1.5m high from the slab as
per method statement approved in MSA 045.

2.Cast by skip which is mainly hung by tower crane.If the tower crane can not
reach the column ,we will use the mobile crane or use the small cart to transport the
concrete .

3.Every time we just cast 0.50m high concrete though one inlet,then change to
another inlet.

STEP 2:

1.Cast the remaining part of the column to the top of the farmwork.

2.Cast by skip which is mainly hung by tower crane.If the tower crane can not reach
the column ,we will use the mobile crane .

STEP 3:

1.Maintain the formwork in place at least 24 hours,after get approval of DSK,then

remove the formwork.

2.Hicking the concrete surface to be roughened fill sounds concrete

3.Grout the remaining gap with the method as per MSA-023-2.4.

5.Vibration

The space between kingpost and external surface of column is 225mm.So the
external vibrator Mikasa MGZ-F100A should be used to vibrate during casting
concrete.
 Four external vibrator Mikasa MGZ-F100A should be used to vibrate during
casting concrete.And one side one vibrator.The layout position of vibrating point like
the follow picture(every side is same).the operation time of external vibrator will be
maintained 1-2 minute in every vibrating point .

6.Removal of formwork and Concrete Curing

1. Maintain the formwork in place at least 24 hours, after get approval of

DSK,then remove the formwork.

2.Apply curing compound(see the MAS-058-R1 ) approved by DSK immediately

after the formwork is stripped.
