Journal #10

Below are the goals I have for myself as I finish college and beyond. As I look at these

goals and thinking of the teacher I want to be for my students I think of many of my previous

teachers. I have seen these teachers continuing to get better and better for the love of teaching

and for the success of their students. My past teachers have become such a great role model to

me in my teaching career. I look back at these teachers and am inspired to go into the same

field and motivated to be a wonderful teacher, just like them.

Long Term Goals:

1. Make and become confident in creating whole unit plans.

2. Continue to gain knowledge about the education field and specifically special education

field.

3. Keep asking for feedback from my supervisors that will help me to grow in my teaching.

4. Incorporate new strategies into my teaching and preparing.

5. Cultivate meaningful relationships with my CTs and other staff in the building.

Short Term Goals:

1. Take initiative in situations where I can be a help to my CT.

2. Ask questions and be proactive about my learning.

3. Create relationships and rapport with the students I work with.

4. Use and become confident in writing an explicit lesson plan.

5. Learn and implement specific feedback with my students.
