ANALYSIS OF OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY IN INDONESIA

ABSTRAK
Some time ago the FEUI Management Institute conducted a petroleum industry
study. This study material can be used as input for oil industry players,
both private and state-owned enterprises (BUMN). The following is a summary
of the results of the study.

BODY
The potential of Indonesia's oil and gas resources is still large enough to
be developed, especially in remote areas, deep sea, old wells, and eastern
Indonesia which have not been explored intensively. Oil and gas sources
with the lowest levels of practical exploration difficulties have now been
exploited and left a higher level of difficulty. It is clear that managing
the oilfield itself promises to be very significant. However, to be able to
know the potential, expensive technology, large capital, adequate time
factor is needed and requires maximum efficiency and expertise from the
best human resources. In the past five years, Indonesia's oil fields have
continued to age. With the current system of regional autonomy, it is
difficult for foreign oil companies to operate because they are dealing
with small kings in the area. Meanwhile, domestic demand has exceeded
production capacity. However, several new refineries need to be built in
the near future to meet domestic consumption demand which continues to show
an increasing trend.

CONSLUSION
From the explanation obtained, managing oil fields themselves has very
significant benefits, but requires expensive technology to manage oil
fields, large capital, time and quality of human resources.
