“TECHNIQUE LABORATORY”

ABSTRACT

Trisakti students majoring in petroleum engineering will carry out

chemical practicum courses in the laboratory. Note that there are nine
experiments that will be carried out, and the experiment is an introduction to
laboratory techniques.

INTRODUCTION
1) Background
To Obtain observational data that is accountable and maincain work
safety security in the laboratory. The practioner needs to know and
implement how the correct technique/method of work in the laboratory
2) Aims & Object
In this first experiment and introduction to sometools will be carried out,
on the use of these tools and some work texchniques commonly used in
the laboratory and explain few things that are dangerous and must be
avoided

METHODS
The tools and equipment that we use in ths experiment are :
1) Tools
a. Bunsen burner
b. Burret
c. Stirring rod
d. Funnel
e. Vaporizer cup
f. Erlenmeyer
g. Measuring glass
h. Beaker glass
i. Watch glass
j. Volumetric flask
k. Pipettes
l. Clamp
m. Tripod
n. Thermometer
o. Test tube
2) Equipment
a) NaCl
b) Pb(NO3)2
c) HCl
d) NaOH
e) Oxalic acid
f) Succinic acid
g) Citric acid
h) Phenolptalein
i) Filter paper
j) Bolling stones

To do experiment we need a right steps. At first experiment, pour 50

ml of water into the beaker glass, add the boiling stones, cover with a watch
glass and the heated. After that, measure the temperature using the
thermometer. Next, the second experiment pouer 2 ml HCl into the test tute.
Then, add Pb(NO3)2 until it saturated. And hear it, observe what happens
The observation result that we get are when we add more boiling
stones into the 50 ml of water, it will boil faster and the temperatures is
95OC. At the second experiment, crystals formed and it looks like a needle.
CONCLUSION
From this experiment, the conclusion are :
1) On each experiment, materials and tool has different function and uses
2) On the heater, there are two types of fire, red and blue fire, blue fire is the
best one
3) The level of Picnometer’s accuracy is higher that pipet gondok
4) When the lead chloride was heated, it will produce needle crystal shape
5) When the black salt filtrated, the water will evaporace and the salt
become white(clean)
