ANALYSIS, PRESENTATION, AND ANALYSIS OF DATA

This chapter presents the analysis, presentation, and interpretation of data gathered

by the investigation in accordance with the specific problem posed in the study. It

likewise, describes the result of each statistical treatment applied in the analysis and

interpretation of data gathered .

Further, it shows the detailed presentation of the results of the study where data or

charcoal burns and its length of time were analyzed and interpreted in the accompanying

table and discussions.

Duration (sec) Color of the Smoke

1 402 seconds White

2 412 seconds White

As presented in the table 1 above, the values of the experimental group (ponkan

peelings as organic mosquito coil) were as follows: in the first trial, the organic mosquito

coil with the ratio of 1:1 of ponkan peelings to other ingredients has a successful duration

that lasts up to 402 seconds, and the color of the smoke is white. In the second trial, the

organic mosquito coil with the ratio of 3:2 of ponkan peelings to other ingredients has a

successful duration that lasts up to 412 seconds, and the color of the smoke is white. The

average trial result of the experimental group is 407 seconds.

As presented in the table 2 above, the values of the control group (commercialized

mosquito coil) were as follows: in the first trial, the commercialized mosquito coil has a

successful duration that lasts up to 900 seconds, and the color of the smoke is white. In

the second trial, the commercialized mosquito coil has a successful duration that lasts up

to 900 seconds, and the color of the smoke is white. The average trial result of the

experimental group is 900 seconds.

Chapter V

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This study intended to make mosquito coil out of ponkan peelings.

Specifically, this study aims to:

1.make an organic mosquito coil using ponkan peelings to prevent different kinds

of diseases caused by mosquitoes;

2.test the effectiveness of ponkan peelings as an organic mosquito coil and

3.provide an affordable and environmental-friendly mosquito coil using ponkan

peelings.

Summary

The salient findings of the study are as follows:

1. Considering the mortality rate, length of time the organic mosquito coil made

of ponkan peelings burns, ash content, and color of the smoke, the study shows

that the organic mosquito coil made of ponkan peelings can be used as an

alternative mosquito coil.

2. The researchers determine the mortality rate, duration, ash content and color of

the smoke of Treatment 1 (T1) and Treatment 2 (T2) by providing 3 trials for each

treatment and came up with the average result of _ % for mortality rate and _

minutes of duration for the experimental group and average result of _ % for

mortality rate and _ minutes of duration for the control group. The organic

mosquito coil... is faster than the ... commercialized mosquito coil in turning into

ashes however, it can be used as an alternative mosquito coil.

Conclusions

Based from the results of the study, the following conclusions were drawn,

1. There is a significant difference between the insecticidal effect between the

organic mosquito coil made from ponkan (Citrus reticulata) and commercialized

mosquito coil, therefore, the null hypothesis is rejected.

2. The use of ponkan peelings has a significant effect in producing an alternative

mosquito coil. Therefore, the null hypothesis is rejected.

3. The organic mosquito coil made from ponkan peelings can be used as an

alternative mosquito coil although its duration in burning is shorter than the

comme rcialized one.

Recommendations

Based from the results of the study, the following recommendations were drawn,

1. For stability of the organic mosquito coil, the researchers should improve the

ingredients and procedures in making the mosquito coil.
