While they have been gathering accolades and applause across the world, there is always
a sense of longing for their homeland. Pravasis who have been living abroad throughout
their lives always yearn for a warm homecoming. This December when the world gears up
for Christmas, the Promising Indians’ Society shall set its stage and unroll the red carpet to
applaud and acknowledge the NRI community from across the globe. Those Indians who are
creating history shall receive a homecoming ceremony which will be one of its kind. After all,
success and happiness thrive and grow even more in sadda pind. They have been proving
their mettle but have never had the ‘home’ advantage. This December 27, witness an event
where the expatriates shall come together on one platform in New Delhi to revel in the
experience of new interactions and ideas.

About Us
India has over the years created various famous personalities in every sphere of life. Promising
Indians is a biographical society of all individuals living inside or outside India who has reached
the pinnacle of success in all walks of life. It’s our endeavour to cherish the achievements of
Persons of Indian origin (PIOs) and residents to keep its country’s flag flying high and make
them feel respected in all circles, and in all countries. India now has the largest ‘diaspora’ in
the world, with more than 16 million persons of Indian origin living abroad. This Non Resident
Indian (NRI) pool represents a little over 1 per cent of India’s population but is a crucial cog in
the wheel of India’s development.
Promising Indian’s Society is a registered body under Indian Trust Act 1882 with the purely
social aim of Uniting Indians globally. PIS prime objective is to celebrate the triumph of every
PIO and nationals relating to glorifying India. A compilation incorporating the achievements
of outstanding persons of Indian origin will go a long way to inspire and motivate the young
persons to build a better future. The social media tools have made it easy for diaspora Indians
to stay in touch with their folks back home. It is time that the Promising Indians’ Society
leveraged this strong bond for the greater good of the nation. Afterall, there is no such good
feeling like a homecoming.
We believe in the power of “NETWORKING” and try to make an effort to connect people
across the globe. There are approximately 25 Million Indians living abroad. The PIS would

Deepa Malik
India’s distinguished sports personality, Padma Shri and Arjuna Award
winner Deepa Malik is paralyzed below the chest and has been undergoing
treatment for a spinal tumour for the past 17 years. But in her avatar as a
para-sports athlete she leaves many abled-bodied people behind in the dust.
She is India’s first woman para-athlete to win a medal at the Paralympics
and has an Asian record in the Javelin throw. In addition to this she is the
first Indian paraplegic open-water swimmer, having swum across the Yamuna, a biker and a
celebrated car rallyist taking part in the illustrious Raid de Himalaya. Deepa has 23 state and
35 national level medals in addition to her tally of 18 international medals including her silver

when one of our WhatsApp community members needed platelets for his
mother who was suffering from dengue. Due to unavailability of platelets
at the right time, he lost his mother.
Another incident that shook me to my core took place in December 2016.
After completing a blood donation request, I happened to meet the wife
of the patient and was shocked to hear that she had to sell herself to
afford the treatment. Moreover, she had been charged for the blood
which I had donated when it was supposed to be a free service. It made
me realize that there are many crooks operating in this field of service”,
