Petrogas E&P LLC is the holding company for MB Holding’s oil & gas exploration and production interests
locally and internationally. The company began in 1999 when Petrogas was awarded Block 7 in Oman
containing the mature Sahmah field and the marginally productive fields of Ramlat and Rija. As an Operator,
Petrogas, managed to arrest production decline and kept the block producing safely and efficiently for the
concession license period. The Block license expired in 2015 and was extended until 2016, facilitating a
smooth handover to the new Operator.

Further success came in 2001 with the award of Block 5 in Oman and the 50/50 partnership with China
National Petroleum Corporation in the operating company Daleel Petroleum. Daleel’s production climbed
steadily from 4,500 bopd in 2002 to reaching 50,000 bopd, by 2016. Daleel’s technical and support
departments work harmoniously together in setting plans of action, leaving no stone unturned. Such
strategy culminated in continuous efforts on subsurface and facilities debottlenecking and expansion, armed
with a mandate to grow efficiently, through targeted exploration and appraisal activities. In addition, the
strategy ensured focused well and reservoir management deploying appropriate and justifiable technologies
including EOR.

Further producing assets were acquired in 2007 in Egypt, where Petrogas farmed in for a 30% interest in
mature producing assets on the west side of the Gulf of Suez (Area A). The Asset is under a Service Agreement
with the General Petroleum Company operated by Kuwait Energy Company having 70% interest. Success
followed in 2008 with the exploration discovery of the Shukeir Northwest field. This has allowed production
to increase and be sustained above 6,000 bopd ever since.

In 2008, Petrogas was awarded a Service Agreement with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) to operate
the Rima Cluster of Small Fields in Oman (75% working interest).

Petrogas’ New Ventures Team continues to

evaluate opportunities to grow the company
still further in key focus areas of the Middle East,
Europe, North and East Africa, and Asia. It also
seeks opportunities where synergies between
Petrogas’ upstream skills and those of sister
companies of the MB Group can be realized.

Over a decade the company has grown its oil

production from a few thousand bopd to more

whom almost 93% are locals.

CORPORATE SOCIAL
RESPONSIBILITY (CSR)
The holding company and its subsidiaries are dedicated to develop societies in which we operate,
especially in our home base, Oman. MB Foundation was legally recognized by the Ministry of Social
development in 2011 to formalize MB Group companies’ philanthropic efforts and to carry out their
charitable activities. In order for our resources to have the highest impact, the MB Foundation board
has prioritized four main pillars, which all CSR activities operate under:

• Education of Omani Youth

• Women’s empowerment
• Citizens Health & Welfare
• Contribution to Civil Society Our companies have also worked closely with ‘Nisa Sidab’, a women’s group in the Mutrah area who

In addition, we supported the ‘National Breast Cancer Genetic Testing’ research centre at Royal
Hospital by providing them with medical kits necessary for diagnosing patients. Moreover,
we purchased diabetic strips, physician scales with digital height rod and nicotine tabs to be
distributed amongst patients who smoke at the Athaiba Health Centre.

Through partnering with the Oman Disabled Association in Sohar & Muscat, we provided
essential aid including but not limited to cerebral palsy wheel chairs, leisure & sports wheel chairs,
steel chairs, motorized beds and mattresses.

In April 2016, we celebrated the official opening of pottery workshop gifted to the men’s prison
in Samail. The rehabilitation of incarcerated individuals was acknowledged by the management
to be of great importance as the program allows inmates to generate income by selling their
products. In addition, studies show that such facilities lower the rate of repeat offenders and help
former detainees to rejoin society and become active members of the community.

We have also partnered with Golden Tulip to supply medical equipment for Nizwa Hospital.
Moreover, through the hospital we provided special needs patients with necessary personal medical
equipment.

On an annual basis we organize a fun day for children from the childcare centre, with a number of
activities for the different age group.
