Lesson Title: Texture project part 2 Grade Level: Pre-K

S & S Statements: In this lesson, we are continuing the previous lesson of using scissors, ripping and
other materials. Using the paper, string from the previous lesson, we will
introduce the skill of adhering the materials in order to create a story.
Learners will brainstorm ideas on how to convey the given materials. Using
glue, the students will use the class rule “just a dot, not a lot” in order to not
have excessively wet piece. After the making process, students will speak
about their project as a reflection of their texture choices.

Concepts: Textures can create visual interests and create a narrative.

Skills:
Skillful placement of materials with glue.
Successful control of the amount of glue.
Convincing mixed media narrative story

Purpose of Lesson:
Students will convey a convincing meaning story by a mixed media narrative.

Learning Objectives:
Conceptual: Given cut papers, string, and pipe cleaners, students will be able to create meaningful
artwork that speaks a story.
Technical: Given glue, paper, string and pipe cleaners, students will effectively learn how to glue
without excessive use.

Assessment Criteria:
Neatly adhering materials to paper without excessive use of glue.
Students can talk about the purpose of 1 section of their work.
