PREFACE
NEW ENGLISH SERIES
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE GARDE 1 is developed according to the National
Curriculum 2006 and National Style Guide. It is being published since 2010 and now it is
presented under the new management and supervision of textbook development,
principles and guidelines with new designing and layout.

The book comprises a collection of materials designed to achieve communicative

competence among learners through oral and written instructional materials. The course is
interactive and activity based.

The series of textbooks incorporate lessons, exercises and activities that develop
and enhance knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, evaluation and
even creativity. Bloom taxomony is considered.

The lessons are informative, diversified and interesting. There are review exercises
to assess and evaluate the children's capabilities. For further practice worksheets can be
developed by the teachers on the patterns of the review sheets given in the textbooks.

A footnote for the teachers is given where required.

It is hoped that the teachers and students will make good use of this new edition.

Later, new approaches, lessons, modules and updates will be added to the series as
the need arises, after feedback and researches.

With these elaborations, this series of new development is presented for use.
