 Aims And Objectives
The curriculum developed for UKG
aims at helping the child unfold his/her
talents, to facilitate and guide the child
to sharpen his/her mental and physical
abilities. It helps to enhance the
listening, reading, speaking & writing
skills of the child.

The programme is based on the child–

centered approach wherein through
play-way the basic concepts are
taught. The main emphasis is placed on
the child’s experiences and
interaction.

A typical day in UKG starts with

recapitulation of the concept followed
by guided / free general conversation
session during which the children will
get an opportunity to share their
experiences at home and outside the
school.
Circle time will be conducted on
understanding to various topics
related to world around the child.

At the end of each day, 15 minutes will

be devoted to rhyme and storytelling
sessions or a general conversation
based on the topic discussed will happen.
The general conversation also includes
moral values/life-skills, vocabulary
building and other relevant topics.

All the festivals will be discussed with

the children as and when they are
celebrated. How and why, they are
celebrated will be discussed along
with their significance.

The UKG syllabi thus aim at an all-

round personality development to
guide the child to develop himself /
herself as global citizens.

HOMEWORK POLICY

Homework is set weekly for all students and they are given the
necessary time to complete it during the prep hours. 40 minutes of
guided practice gives them the confidence to work and strengthen
their skills.
• homework is an integral part of the curriculum and is
necessary in order to reinforce the learning at home
• it is an extension of class work
• is appropriate to the age, ability and developmental stage
of the individual student
• is done on the day allocated as per the schedule for a
particular subject
Homework may take a range of forms including:
• the completion of class work or preparation for an
assessment (practice work)
• oral reinforcement
• activity- based
• mental math
The children may be given oral work / practice work that will take
40 minutes daily to enhance their concepts and skills.
