homes/student housing)
Flower Street: West to East:
Many of the housing structures on this street had duplexes, apartments, community
casitas, San Xavier complexes, and significantly less single home houses than the
other streets in the census tract. Approximately 1/3 of the houses had covered parking
and few had garages. The houses had chain link fences with telephone lines
crisscrossing streets with some of the lines connected to the residents’ homes. Trash
and some old furniture were visualized throughout the resident’s yards. There were
many large recycling and trash bins in the street and near personal homes for
collection. Several homes had for sale or for rent signs posted in the yards. In a
couple of the apartment complexes there were stray dogs in the parking lot and
persons loitering. Tin foil was placed in windows of apartment buildings. Vandalism
was seen on multiple parking signs.

Glenn East to West:

Two homes on this street had solar panels and several homes had “beware of dog”
signs. There was a notice of eviction sign posted on a single-family home. One empty
lot.

Baxter North to South:

There was a significant difference in the residential area on this street in comparison
to the other areas within the census tract. There were red brick housing and less trash
on the side of the road and in yards. Several homes had Halloween decorations up, a
jet ski in one yard, and basketball hoops in front of two homes.

CT #002803 Community Assessment, 10/15/19, page #2

Bermuda West to East:
The homes in this area were mainly single-family homes with large yards. Four
“Beware of Dog” signs posted on residents’ homes. Significantly fewer chain-link
fences and more landscaping in yards than flower street. There were large community
trash cans instead of individual trash cans on this street. There was a butterfly garden
and power complex (TEP signs).

Florence/Bentley:
Homes on these streets appear to be more vibrant, diverse, and colorful. There is a
noticeable effort by the community to have an upkept look.

East Sylvia Street:

Primarily single-family homes with covered parking and well kept. Several homes
had central alarm and security camera signs and there was not as many fences and
gates in the front yards.

Copper Street:
Several homes and duplexes had security screens on doors and windows with bars on
them.

East Alta Vista Street:

One home had a rainwater collection cistern. A few houses had home security signs
and solar panels.
