Foreword
The descriptions and service procedures contained in this manual are based on designs
and methods studies carried out up to February 05.

The products are under continuous development. Vehicles and components produced
after the above date may therefore have different specifications and repair methods.
When this is judged to have a significant bearing on this manual, supplementary service
bulletins will be issued to cover the changes.

The new edition of this manual will update the changes.

In service procedures where the title incorporates an operation number, this is a
reference to V.S.T. (Volvo Standard Times).

Service procedures which do not include an operation number in the title are for general
information and no reference is made to V.S.T.

The following levels of observations, cautions and warnings are used in this Service
Documentation:

Note: Indicates a procedure, practice, or condition that must be followed in order to have
the vehicle or component function in the manner intended.

Caution: Indicates an unsafe practice where damage to the product could occur.
Warning: Indicates an unsafe practice where personal injury or severe damage to the
product could occur.

Danger: Indicates an unsafe practice where serious personal injury or death could occur.

MID 128 PID 94 Fuel delivery pressure

General information
In addition to the fuel pressure, the sensor also measures
the fuel temperature.

On D16B, the sensor is located before the fuel filter. This

means, among other things, that a clogged fuel filter gives
high pressure at the sensor.

On other engines (D7C, D10B and D12C) the sensor

is located after the fuel filter. This means, among other
things, that a clogged fuel filter gives low pressure at the
T2012674
sensor.

The same FMI can therefore have various causes

depending on which engine it applies to.

NOTE!
To avoid wrongly changing a sensor, you must do
the following steps before you continue fault tracing:

• If there is an active/inactive fault code

Undo the sensor connector. Check that there is no
oxidation and that the pins in the connector are
not damaged.
If there is a fault, please refer to separate information
under group 371.
Note: Some fault codes become inactive when
the engine is stopped. Start the engine to check
whether the fault code is still inactive when the engine
is running.

• After any work needed on the connector

Re-fit the connector. Check whether the fault code
becomes inactive.
If the fault remains, check the cables and sensor
as in the instruction.
