Performance measurement system

Introduction

Performance measurement systems are the tools that aid the progress and ways of tracking the

progress of a business or an organizational unit (Neely, Gregory & Platts, 1995). Performance

management is basically the process of collecting, analyzing and reporting information

concerning a targeted field according to Kanji (2002). It gives the information on the

repercussions of the business or unit selected. This is because it shows the process of

transformation helping one to implement the strategies put for the purpose of growth and

expansion. It involves choosing the key performance indicators (KPIs). Neely (200) said that the

measures break the objectives into smaller targets easing the process of managing the process of

delivering them.

In this study canva is assessed on how it delivers its functions as it set as gives copyrights to both

local and foreign users of birthday cards in China. Canva is a foreign platform to China and

therefore its objectives as a platform has to be set and made in such a way that it suits the

residents and citizens of China. It has to assess and adapt to the Chinese habits and rules for local

users so that it can be accepted and given a warm welcome. This will enable them to know the

desires and the culture of the Chinese and hence thrive.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of Canva

Once canva adapts to the habits and rules of local users, it will know the interests of users and

hence maximize on the interests only thereby making more sales. This will also enable it to know

the challenges they may face like the high cost of promotion. This will make them to put more

effort since promotion is a way of marketing the products. Since canva acts as a copyright

platform and basing on the fact that copyright awareness is relatively weak, canva has to work

with partners so as to know the best and cheap ways of improving the copyright awareness. This

will give them a chance to also look at the best design tools and contents so that they can be

improved as desired.

Canva is currently doing well in china, this is depicted by the fact that it has reached cooperation

with vision China and hanyi font library in bid to provide commercial copyright pictures. Also

the fact that currently canva services are free to use make it more competitive. This was

supplemented by the fact that canva went for nine months of research before entering the

Chinese market. This made canva to produce products with simple logic and that are easy to use,

this makes the users to prefer it making it more competitive. Also the fact that the CEO of canva

was the founding member of LinkedIn gave a good foundation to canva since he has experience

in localizing multinational companies. This gave canva a good foundation since the experience

ensured that the entry to the market was more of success than failure. As canva maximizes on

this KPIs it will definitely make to the market and remain competitive enough not to be washed

out (Suwignjo, Bititci & Carrie, 2000).
