Part 3: Assessment Plan

STANDARDS STANDARDS

Creativity and Innovation Students use the knowledge that they gained

from the previous lesson yesterday. They apply

this knowledge to the activities presented in

class today.

Communication and Collaboration With LearnZillion students work with a partner.

They collaborate and complete the interactive

assignments that go along with the LearnZillion

video.

Research and Information fluency LearnZillion, I-Ready, and the use of the

smart-board allows students to apply digital

tools to gather, evaluate, and use information.

Critical thinking, problem solving, and Students complete an individual assignment on

decision making I-Ready. They are using their critical thinking

skills to solve problems. This is an informal

assessment for the teacher.

Technology operations and concepts With the integration of the technology in

today’s lesson, students will have to

demonstrate a sound understanding of

technology concepts, systems, and operations.

EDIT 610 Final Project 2

Learning Goals:

Learn how to find the area of right triangles, other triangles, polygons, and special

quadrilaterals by decomposing into regular shapes. Solve real world problems

Common Core Standard 6.G.1

Pre-Assessment:

Pre-Assessment on computer program I-Ready on the first day. Students will complete a

mini pre-assessment quiz that will allow me to see how much they know about our new

unit.

Board-splash: each student come up to the board and writes what they learned or

remembered from the pre- assessment.

Warm up problems: to be completed at the beginning of class. 3 problems for finding

the area. I will call on 3 students to come up to the smartboard to answer a question, those

students at their seats will complete the work on their paper.

Boardsplit: to be completed at the beginning of class. I will split the board into three

sections (triangle, irregular figure, a quadrilateral), students will explain how to find the

area.

Formative Assessment:

In-class lab, class worksheets, homework, and class conversation. Quiz taken on the

computer program I-Ready.

EDIT 610 Final Project 3

Exit slip: every day at the end of class students will be given a sticky note they will either

write clear, kind of clear, or confused. This allows me to see which students did not grasp

my lesson or if the class as a whole are struggling.

Summative Assessment:

Chapter test at the end of the unit. The test will encompass all of my learning goals.

Students will be thoroughly prepared.

Adaptations:

I have no students with IEP’s in this class. We have 3 group rotation, my direct

instruction students have more one on one time with me because it is a smaller group of

students. Not all students learn the same. I will have to differentiate my instruction to

meet the needs of each student. I will utilize manipulatives, games, and differentiate my

instruction to reach the visual, auditorial, and kinesthetic learners. When grouping mix

high achieving with low achieving students. Differentiate instruction to reach each

student’s learning needs. Some students may be able to grasp the concept quicker than

others, therefore I must have a steady pace and move too quickly or too slowly.
