Recognition, you must make your contribution by focusing as a main message the
answer to the following questions:

1. What are the objectives of environmental indicators?

Based on information provided in (ISOTOOLS, 2015), it is understood that the

objectives of the environmental indicators refer basically to checking and quantifying
whether the measures taken by organizations to minimize environmental damage are
yielding results. Measures such as saving energy, resources, etc. That is to say that what
these indicators seek is to reflect those administrative actions that companies employ
with the intention of mitigating the environmental impact generated by the activities of
the same.

2. ¿What is the importance of environmental indicators?

It is important that an organization works with social responsibility,

contemplating practices that lead to mitigate environmental damage. The environmental
indicators are then important, given that they manage to throw multiple environmental
data that result in an evaluation that contains those aspects unfavorable or weak in terms
of environmental management. As well as, they serve to measure how effective the
actions undertaken in the company are. These indicators also turn out to be important,
given that they contribute to mitigate the damage to the environment, through healthy
practices in organizations, such as saving energy, saving water, recycling paper, etc.

3. ¿How to use environmental indicators in the professional field?

The environmental indicators could be used in the professional environment,

implementing an environmental management plan, by means of which the organizations
can be informed about the actions that can be carried out in order to achieve a
sustainable social responsibility, the adoption of practices that favor the environment
and that lead to minimize damage to it. In the same way, it is possible to resort to ISO
standards, which generate solutions and benefits for many sectors of commercial
activity.

Within these standards, 14001 can be implemented, which protects the

environment through healthy practices and also responds to environmental aspects that
arise every day, but always keeping a balance with the socioeconomic demands.

In the same way, ISO 26000 can be applied, which:

Guide on social responsibility, harmoniously offers a global guide relevant to

public and private sector organizations of all kinds, based on an international consensus
among experts representing the main stakeholders, for which encourages the application
of best practices in social responsibility in all the world. (ISO, 2010, page 3).
