Meet the Speaker: Marcelo Jordan

Marcelo specializes in responsible investments and currently works for

the World Bank Treasury as Senior Portfolio Manager for
Environmental, Social and Governance integration. Prior to this role,
Marcelo worked for the United Nations Climate Convention (UNFCCC)
focusing initially on carbon markets and subsequently on climate
finance. Marcelo also worked for the Green Climate Fund (GCF), where
he led the development of the Fund’s initial set of environmental and
social safeguards and fiduciary standards. Marcelo also undertook a one-year assignment at the
Adaptation Fund within the Global Environment Facility (GEF) at the WB. Before getting involved
in environmental, social and governance issues at these multilateral organizations, Marcelo
devoted the first half of his career to investments and finance, having worked as fixed income
and gold portfolio manager for the international reserves management of the Central Bank of
Bolivia.

As someone passionate about music and arts and their role in creating positive impact, Marcelo
launched the impact.arte podcast and is currently developing the impact.arte project to establish
an ensemble music festival in Bolivia.

Marcelo has a MSc in Nature, Society and Environmental Policy from the University of Oxford, a
Master of Applied Finance from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, and a graduate
degree from Escuela Militar de Ingenieria in La Paz, Bolivia.
