ECO RESORT

ABSTRACT
Life is fast approaching with maximum technology and minimum
interaction with the nature. The stress has been increasing on the
individuals to entertain themselves. The concept of eco resort is to
make people move from one place to another in order to relax
themselves. It is considered a place for relaxation and provide
entertainment for the visitors and tourists. An eco resort offers a
tropical experience to visitors and guests. These kind of resorts
makes only a minimum impact on the environment without
compromising the guest's comfort and safety. It can replace
typical air conditioned structures. The eco resort has to blend with
the local natural and cultural environments by employing the
environmentally sustainable design. It must minimise use of energy
through passsive solar design and where additional energy inputs
are required, it should utilise the renewable resources such as sun,
air and water. It also has to make minimum impact on the
environment by limiting waste emissions, pollution and other
environmnetal effects.

AIM
To design a resort with minimum energy consumption and more
usage of sustainable materials (vernacular architecture) and
construction tehniques.

OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the design is

- to provide a relaxed recreational environment for various

facilities and functions.

- to design focusing on the eco experience of visitors

- to provide a cost efficient and functional design with less energy

consumption.
- to provide a flood resistant design

SCOPE
- A eco resort demands the formulation of an ambience that can
provide people to relax and leisurely spend their time, at the same
time satisfying all their funtional needs. Thus it gives the opportunity
to deal with the visual behavioural, technical and functional
aspects of the design.

- The project provides an opportunity to study the local

architecture - that takes inspiration from the local architecture,
keeping the climatic factors, behavioural pattern and the user
comfort in mind.

LIMITATIONS
- The primary focus of the project is to provide a environmentally
sustainable design that will give justice to the concept of eco
resort.

- The site selected for the design will be focused and studied for
a clear understanding of climatic condition prevailing in that
area.

- The local architecture is given importance for a cost effective

and sustainable design.

CONCLUSION
The aim of the project for a environmentally sustainable design will
be achieved through various studies and researches.
