Ohm’s law states that V=IR where V is the voltage in volts (V), I is the current in amperes (A), and
R is the resistance in ohms (Ω). In an experiment to verify Ohm’s law, the resistance of a circuit is
increased from 1.0 Ω to 10.0 Ω and the corresponding current is recorded at a constant voltage of 20.0
V. The table below shows the results of the experiment.

a. Identify the dependent and independent variables.


*The resistance (R) in ohms (Ω) is the independent variable, while the current (I) in amperes (A)
is the dependent variable.

* The equation of the best fit line is y = 9.8176x + 0.0145, and the slope of the line is 9.8176,
represents the direct proportion relationship between the current in amperes (A) and resistance in
ohms (Ω), and that is when the resistance in ohms rises, the current in amperes also increases.

e. Can you get the voltage out of your graph? If yes, how? Compute the percent error of your voltage.
Use 20.0 V as the accepted value.
