RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES, MEDICAL CLINICS AND SOCIAL SERVICE PROJECTS IN AMPARA

DISTRICT ON 18th AND 19th OF JANUARY 2019

You will be happy to hear that we participated in the unveiling of the cheithya at Jayathilakaramaya at
Nuwaragalathanna, Aranthalava, on the19th of January.from 10.00 a.m to 1.00p.m ‟Success-Colombo”contributed
Rs.400, 000 for this project through the donations made by- Mr. Manilal Gunarathne Rs 100,000, Mr Nimal
Koswanage Rs.50, 000, Ms.Chandrani Silva Rs.50,000, Drs.Ajita and Anula Wijesundere Rs.200,000. Further
contribution of Rs. 17,000/- each was donated by Ms. Sepali Sri Nammuni, Dr. Sujatha Wijenayake, Priya
Rajapaksha and Vasanthi Senerath for 4 Buddha statues around the Cheithya Ms. Thrima Withana contributed
Rs.15,000/- for the Mal Asanaya.

The following medical clinics were held at the venues as given below.

1. 18thJanuary from 3.00 p.m. – 9.00 p.m. at Mayadunna Vidyalaya, Mayadunna

2. 19th January from 8.00 a.m. – 1.00 p.m. at Gal-oya Inn, Ampara
3. 19th January from 3.00 p.m. – 9.00 p.m. at Purana Rajamaha Viharaya, Gonagala

The following activities were carried out at the clinics:-

1. Observance of Pansil and observance of 2 minutes silence in memory of our fallen Ranawiru
2. Talk about the aims and activities of Success - Colombo and health education talks about hazards of
smoking, alcoholism & betel chewing by Dr. AnulaWijesundere
3. Examination of about 800 patients and distribution of free medicines
4. Distribution of exercise books and pencils donated by Mrs. Vasanthi Chandrasekere, Mrs Priyanthi
Scharenguivel and Dr.Sujatha Wijenayake were given to all school children attending the three clinics.
5. Classes in English and etiquette were conducted by Ms. Priyanthi Scharenguivel
6. Large quantity of water cans obtained from Sri Jayawardanapura were distributed among the people.
7. Pastel boxes obtained from the Sneha child development centre were distributed among the children.

We are very grateful to the army commander Lt.Gen.Mahesh Senanayake for providing us transport.

We thank Mrs. Jayasekara of Ampara for logistic support and meals provided during our stay in Ampara.
