FOR YOUR INFORMATION PLEASE. REGARDING 26TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF SUCCESS-
COLOMBO AND MEDICAL CLINICS AND SOCIAL SERVICE PROJECTS IN MANNAR
(MADHU ROAD AND SILA WATURA, (PADAVIYA) - SRIPURA AND SINHAPURA ON THE
18TH AND 19TH OF JULY 2020
You will be happy to hear that the following medical clinics and social service projects were held at the venues as indicated-
1. July 18th from 10.00 am – 2.00 pm at Bhodiraja Viharaya, Madhu Road, Mannar
2. July 18th from 3.30 pm – 6.00 pm at Community Centre, Vijayagama, Silawathura
3. July 18th from 10.00 pm - 19th July 3.30 am at Dharamaloka Pirivena, Sripura Rajamaha Viharaya, Padaviya
4. July 19th from 10.00 am - 5.00 pm at Perakumba Viharaya, Sinhapura, Padavi-Sripura

The following activities were carried out at the above clinics:-

1. Observance of Pansil, Anusasana by the Chief Priests of the Temples
2. Talk about the aims and activities of Success- Colombo and health education talks about hazards of
smoking, alcoholism & betel chewing and advice about infant feeding by Dr. Anula Wijesundere
3. Examination of about 500 patients and distribution of free medicines
4. Distribution of exercise books, pencils, erasers and drawing books donated by Success-Colombo
5. Financial assistance for self-employment projects
(1) Madhu Road - dry fish business - Rs. 5,000/-
coconut shell craft - Rs. 10,000/-
submersion pump for tube well - Rs. 27,000/- (Mrs. Sumana Perera)
sewing machine - Rs. 18,500/-
(2) Silawathura - bicycle for school boy - Rs. 15,500/-
fabrics for sewing for 6 women - Rs. 20,000/-
water motor - Rs. 18,500/-
(3) Padavi-Sripura - donation of wheelchair - Rs. 17,500/- (Dr. Anula Wijesundere)
The balance contributions were possible through the generosity of Mrs. Sreema Senevirathne.
6. Assistance to re-build boutique destroyed by wind in Madhu Road - Rs. 113,500/- donors Mr. Chanaka
Bandarage - Rs. 20,000/-, Sepali Srinammuni - Rs. 10,000/-, Anula Wijesundere - Rs. 12,000/-, Gurty
Thilakaratne - Rs. 10,000/-, Chandrani Silva - Rs. 25,000/-, Suneetha Amarasinghe - Rs. 25,000/-,
Dr. Chandra Rajapaksha - Rs. 5,000/-, Ranjani Warnasuriya - Rs. 5,000/-, Ranjani Dabare - Rs. 1,500/-.
7. Contribution towards Dharamaloka Pirivena, Sripura Rajamaha Viharaya, Padaviya - Rs 6,500.00 by
members of Success.
8. Classes in English and etiquette for the school children by Mrs. Lakshmini Wickramasinghe

We are grateful to Lt General Shavendra Silva, Commander of the Sri Lanka Army for providing us transport.
Major Manjula, commanding officer of the Madhu Road Sri Lanka Army camp is gratefully acknowledged for
excellent arrangements at the clinic and wonderful hospitality.
