Question One

Recently it was reported in the local newspapers, that a sixteen year old was beaten up by
5 youths and two days later, the victim died without regaining consciousness.

Discuss the following:

a) Assuming that all of them went with the intention of only injuring the young boy.
However, in the course of beating him, one of the boys actually caused the young
boy’s death, explain the implication of s34 on those who participated in causing
the death of the victim.

b) Assuming that all of them agreed to meet in P.J Hilton, where they discussed how
they would attack the young boy. Discuss the relevant provisions that could be
invoked by the prosecution.
