1) According to Ali Abd Raziq in his writing Islam and the Foundations of Government,
religion must be completely separated from worldly affairs (politics) if the backwardness of
the ummah is to be overcome.

Critically analyse the above statement with reference to the opinion of the Muslim scholars
and jurists.

2) According to Abu ‘Ala Al-Maududi: “Islam is not a mere collection of dogmas and ritual but
a complete way of life. It is embodiment of divine guidance for all fields of human life.”
