WHEN NO ONE RETIRES

Everyone grows up dreaming of being successful and happy. Throughout life, we go

through a process similar to that of many of our peers. We go to school and eventually get a great
job. The career path that is chosen is one that fulfills the needs and wants of whomever made the
decision. Some people usually spend time working on career and focusing on advancing and
increasing their success. It is often that retirement coincides with a decline in health and
functioning with older adults, but this is actually not the real problem. There are some studies that
over the age of 60 still have better mental health than those still working at the same age. I agree
with the author that you can still work if you really can but the company should asked whether the
employee is voluntarily retired, or were unwillingly forced into retirement. When an individual
chooses to retire it is frequently associated to positive well-being and an optimistic outlook on
retirement. For women especially, a forced or abrupt retirement leads to depressive symptoms.

The part of the article that struck me the most is the Redefine the workweek. On the planned
retirement date, many employees are very afraid that they will face their quiet years. They will be
worried about retirement age are insufficiently understood about financial problems. As a result,
they will continue to work as long as they work. I agree that employees who are already retired must
have a part-time work. They still need to have an opportunity to show their creativity. Their want to
try a new line of work. Many people continue to work simply because their truly love their job. They
may be able to remain at the same field but take on different jobs that are more fulfilling or requires
at least fewer hours.

In our family, my grandmother retired from her work. She works at 3D as a secretary. She
retired in the age of 65 years old. After she retired, she still wants to work. She look for a program
that offers pre-retirement and career transition support. My grandmother is a very hardworking
person. She likes doing things every time. In our home, she always wake up early to water our
plants, fixing stuff at home and washing her own clothes. They are true believers in skills and talent.
They want to push through to pursuit what they want to do in their lives. They believe that they are
doing better as they get old.
My conclusion for this article is that retirement is good. Especially to those employees who
are really in the old age. The future is not guaranteed, which is why retirement planning is
necessary, and once you have a plan in place stick to it. If you run into trouble later in your life,
you’ll have to try as hard as you can to resist the temptation to dip into your retirement savings,
although it will be there as a safety net if you need it. Keep in mind, there are sometimes penalties
for withdrawing your retirement funds, and you will want to save them for your actual retirement.
Retirement is the time then to fulfill all the things you might have wished you had time or money
for be it travel, contributing to a favorite social cause or devouring that list of must read books that
you have been collecting for years.
