involves a unique non-human character and
exclusive environment San Fransokyo
San Fransokyo is the main world of the film. It has a unique combination of two existing
cities; Tokyo and San Francisco. The characteristics and landmarks of both cities are well
blended with a little design tweaks creating a very convincing fictional world.
The overall shape and silhouette of the city clearly appears as San Francisco, but elements of
Tokyo such as LED signs and Asian architectural style is dominant on the ground level.
This golden gate bridge concept art clearly demonstrates the firm characteristic of the environment design. It is
quite definite that it is the golden gate bridge, but the slight design tweaks such as curvature on the lamp and
decorations that resembles Japanese architectures differentiate this from the existing one and suits perfectly to the
fictional world.
